Ask a Question
  • I am planning a trip to the south west USA. We will be in very remote areas. I don't think my CB will pick up anything and I have been told I can not use my VHF truck radio. My question is could I buy a Ham radio and use it in the states?

With the appropriate license, yes you can use a ham radio in the US. However as you know from your existing radio unless someone is listening on the other end it is not going to help you. I would recommend either contacting locals to the area to find out the communication method of choice, or condsider a satelite phone.
