Whenever I want another VeroTelecom VGC VERO VR-N7500 50W Dual Band Headless Amateur Ham Mobile Radio, but I know the XYL will question where it came from, I just make sure its the same colour as the last. I then say that's the same one from a year ago. Works every time :)

The Vero Telecom VGC VR-N7500 is a brand new concept. A full power, 50watt VHF / 40 watt UHF Dual Band "Headless" Mobile Ham Radio with a solid build quality and bluetooth capabilities. It is very different in design compared to any other ham radio you have used in your mobile or base due to all programming and user controls residing on an Android or iOS device.

The VR-N7500 uses a smartphone or tablet as the control panel. The body can be installed in the trunk, the mobile phone is connected to the radio through Bluetooth, and the traditional control head is via an app on your device. At this time, the car hands-free intercom can be utilized through the Bluetooth PTT. (Sold separately) or use the included speaker mic for traditional QSOs.

The VR-N7500 allows you to program the radio on Android and IOS device. All radio related operations can be set via the App, which is very convenient and fast.

The App Download Link For Android:

IOS APP is currently in development, allows you to set the frequency CTCSS Repeater Tones, and some simple operations on it, mostly related to amateur frequency programming. Other features will be available soon.

Please visit the App Store to download the app which is named 'BS HT'.'

This radio offers many unique features. The full brochure from the manufacture is here. DISCLAIMER: Many of the features are un-documented, and may not perform as one would expect in a typical amateur radio environment. This is provided AS-IS

As mentioned, many of the features are un-documented. This is the official guide here that comes with the radio.

As one can see it leaves a lot to the imagination and self exploration to figure things out. The community is fortunate enough to have an individual who documented his experience with the radio and create a more complete users guide here.

The below video is also a good show and tell to get an idea of what the radio can and cannot do.
