The APRS-K1 Audio Interface Cable bridges standard two-way radios with your Android, iOS, or Windows devices. By turning your smartphone, tablet, or laptop into a virtual Terminal Node Controller (TNC), this cable enables APRS beaconing, SSTV decoding/transmitting, Zello Radio-over-IP (RoIP) gateway links, and safe two-way audio recording without the expense of standalone modem hardware. Unlike cables found on marketplaces, Fleetwood Digital includes a 4 page users guide to help get you up & running.
🛡️ Built-In Inline Attenuation Circuit
Two-way radios output high-voltage audio designed for driving loudspeakers, which can easily distort or damage a smartphone's delicate microphone input. The integrated inline circuit housing contains a specialized resistor network that attenuates speaker-level audio down to a safe, clean microphone-level signal while ensuring proper impedance matching for flawless AFSK packet decoding.
🔄 Universal Reverse Connector Adapter Included (OMTP vs. CTIA)
The native 3.5mm TRRS jack is wired to the modern CTIA standard (used by Apple and most Android devices). To prevent wiring mismatches on older devices or alternative hardware, every cable includes a reverse connector adapter that instantly swaps the Ground and Mic lines to the OMTP standard for universal compatibility.
