The Pyramid PS7KX is a compact, no-frills Linear power supply. Its heavy-duty transformer design provides clean, stable, and RF-quiet 13.8V DC power, making it an excellent choice for powering sensitive radio receivers without the interference or "hash" common with cheap switching supplies.
This unit delivers 5 amps of continuous power (7A peak), which is more than enough headroom for running a desktop scanner or a standard 4-watt CB radio. This is the perfect, simple power source for a basic home station.
⚠️ Power Limitations: Check Your Radio
This is a 5 Amp continuous power supply. It is ideal for CB radios (which draw 2-3A) and scanners (which draw <1A).
It is NOT recommended for 25W-50W mobile radios (GMRS, Ham, or Business), as they require 10-12 amps. Using this supply with a mobile radio will cause it to shut down when you transmit.
