This is a great scanner! It is easy to use and the reception is excellent. I just put in my zip code and it found all the frequencies for my listening area.

Best scanner on the market. Hooked to the same antenna with identical settings it will outperform its' SDS200 big brother and that's saying a lot. Updating, programing and operation are identical to the 200. What a great radio.

The only problem with this seriously is that you can't use a MacBook Pro to program it. They want you to buy some windows malarkey that cost money... This is a serious problem with this radio for Mac users. That means you'll have to do everything from the radio and you can't plug it into a mak computer unless you have alternative software, which is stupid. This radio has been out for almost half a decade and they don't have software for it. That is dumb.

Update 6/20/25 this bogus company refuses to refund my money. As a business owner I called Amazon business and they are going to take care of it and make sure I get a refund. They are also going to look into the bogus name that they are saying they are uniden when they are not. Plus the fact that all the stuff that's crap can't get fixed because uniden doesn't sell online and won't honor any purchase made online, especially to rally bargains LLC what a joke. So far I haven't seen the money return but I figure Amazon will do the right thing. Stay away from this vendor!!---I have a lot of issues with this vendor / supplier. They stated that they were uniden their Amazon paid says they are uniden. But when I had a problem and called uniden uniden says they don't sell on Amazon so I can't get any help from uniden. The $700 paper weight stopped working 31 days after I received it and I can't return it in the app I had to go file a complaint with Amazon to get them to send me a return order and they did that on Friday I'm still waiting to hear back from them. It all started when I got two day delivery and on the day it was supposed to be delivered I got an email saying it would be anywhere from 8 to 15 days later and I was at a temporary location cuz I drive all over the country I was pretty PO'd but all the accessories arrived and no radio I return the antennas the cables and all that stuff and then a day later the stupid thing arrives and I'm wondering why why did they lie and now I'm fighting to get a refund on this $700 paperwork cuz I'm not going to accept that they won't accept it back when it died completely 31 days after I received it. It had been crapping out on mobile by shutting itself off every 20-25 minutes and I'd start it back up and it run for another 25 minutes and it would just die out I don't know what was up with the battery but then the battery just don't work anymore. I will change my stars and update my review if the company does something right if they don't I might take another star away but first and foremost they lied about who they were there are some reseller in New York and uniden in flower mound Texas so part of it's on me but they said they were uniden and you can't find anything else on their web page that says different and that's not right. Amazon's not doing their vetting properly and allowing this company to say they are a different company.. that's all for now more to come whenever I get that refund.See above.

I already owned an SDS200. The 100 is just the little brother to that one. They both work nearly the same. The SDS100 is a little bit more tricky to operate but still not hard to operate if you know how to use an SDS200. You will need to do a little research on how digital and state wide interop systems work before attempting to program or you will mess up. Programming is a breeze with the Sentinel app that Uniden provides free of charge. The Database isn't 100% so I would suggest searching the FCC website to fill any holes. Good quality unit and I like it.
