IN-PERSON AMATEUR HAM RADIO CERTIFICATION COURSE

 

Langley ARC sponsored Elmer:
Rent-An-Elmer! (Ham Radio Tutor) Private and small group ham radio courses held monthly in south Langley Township to achieve your Basic with honours certification. In-person training for one to four adults. 9-day course consisting of two consecutive Friday evenings and two consecutive Saturdays with ≈10 hours of home study in between the two weekends. Exam is taken on the second Saturday afternoon; certification the same day.


Private one-on-one tutoring is available on an hourly basis. E-mail for rates.
The instructor is an Advanced ARO and formally trained adult educator, with 55 years experience and 40 years of training in electronics and specifically amateur radio, specializing in the requirements to achieve your Basic with honours certification.


Accepting adult applicants from everywhere in the Lower Mainland. All materials are supplied.


As an ISED Accredited Examiner, I invigilate online examinations via Skype from anywhere in the Provinces of B.C., Alberta, Yukon and the Territories. In-person examinations are offered at my home in south Langley Township by appointment.

Are you wanting to become a "Ham" and interested in getting your amateur radio station license.

Amateur radio can become a life long hobby. If you choose you can use your radio skills in conjunction with community service and emergency preparedness.

Whether you want to communicate around the block or world it can be accomplished by an amateur radio operator. Although morse code is still a major part of amateur radio, the hobby in the last decade is making major use of computers and the internet.
