The Retevis MateTalk L2 POC Radio is a next-generation hybrid communication tool that merges global 4G LTE network connectivity with traditional dual-band VHF/UHF analog RF. This device allows operators to break free from local line-of-sight limitations while maintaining direct radio-to-radio backup when cellular networks fail or are not in range. A full 5W of Analog RF FM, and fully repeater compatible with PL tones, offsets, direction shift, and wide/narrow bandwidth.

📶 Included Global IoT Data SIM
Out of the box, the L2 includes a dedicated Global IoT SIM card pre-loaded with 800MB of PoC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) data per month, active for 12 months. This data allocation is specifically sized to handle continuous Zello PTT voice traffic without requiring you to use your personal smartphone's data plan.
Why a Hybrid Radio? The Power of Four Working Modes
Traditional analog radios lose signal over the horizon, and purely cellular PoC radios become useless paperweights in dead zones. The MateTalk L2 solves this by seamlessly bridging both worlds.
1. Analog Mode
Operates as a standard VHF/UHF two-way radio for independent, off-grid communication with robust local security when cell towers are out of reach. VHF: 144-148 / UHF: 430-450
2. POC Network Mode
Leverages 4G LTE to eliminate distance limitations entirely, supporting cross-regional or global collaboration via Zello. For optimum results Retevis PoC provides the most robust operation.
3. Mixed Mode
Provides flexible adaptation and intelligent switching between active analog RF channels and cellular PoC networks.
4. Repeater / Bridge Mode
The ultimate feature: the L2 can act as a bridge, taking incoming analog RF traffic from local radios and pushing it out over the global PoC network (and vice versa) to overcome physical distance limitations. (Not compatible with Zello)
Setting Realistic Expectations: Device Limitations
While the MateTalk L2 is an exceptionally powerful PTT tool, it is explicitly built as a radio first and a smart device second. Please be aware of the following operational realities:

Screen Size vs. Complex Apps The device features a compact 1.7-inch screen. While it runs Zello natively for private calls and global group chats, navigating deep application settings or complex menus is not as fluid or robust as using a modern 6-inch smartphone. Use the native Retevis PoC for the most robust experience.

Numeric Keypad Texting Text messaging must be done via the T9 numeric keypad. This is functional for short, critical updates, but is too tedious for extended conversational texting.

Voice Calls Require a Separate SIM The included IoT SIM is restricted to PoC data only. If you intend to use the L2 to make standard cellular telephone calls or send SMS text messages, you must supply your own active voice-and-data SIM card from a local carrier. The radio supports Dual Card Dual Standby.
